![]() ![]() Houdini: Direct modeling is a little painful and slow, and I worry that once I branch away from tutorials to creating completely original work, I won't be smart enough to work efficiently with the procedural modeling workflow. Exporting stuff from a Blender file to anything other than the Unity game engine seems dicey at best. I'm aware that some people have been switching from paid software to Blender for modeling, but I don't have the experience to know if Blender is really lacking something I need to go far with art or produce cool game assets. It's texture painting tools won't win any awards either. Modeling seems fine, but it's horrible for any piece that requires a simulation (rigid is OK, but just OK). It's expensive, and I don't want to have to buy second piece of software to make up for the stuff it doesn't do as well.īlender: I have the most experience with this and have made some OK looking art. ![]() ![]() Modo: All it seems to having going for is smooth modeling tools. I'd love to give C4D a try, but I don't currently have Windows 10 on my computer, and won't be able to upgrade to it for a couple of months. I've dabbled around with several pieces of software trying to find what would best for my needs. Hi!
